What is Reading Intervention?Reading Intervention is a program that pulls struggling students into an additional small group teaching setting outside of their classroom for thirty minutes each day. The students are taught in a smaller environment that helps them focus on strategies and skills. The same phonetic and skill patters as the regular classroom are followed, but their reading levels are based on where they "are" and the goal is to move them forward. Another goal is to move children in and out of the program as quickly as possible. When a child feels secure in the strategies that will help him be successful and on level in the classroom, they are dismissed. This decision is based on testing, student/teacher conferencing and the Reading Intervention teachers discretion. ,
